Peach and Red Glass Necklace
This necklace is made with beads from India. I used up beads from a by the pound bag that I bought, along with some strands of sherry colored oval beads. Bead sizes are approximate. You need the following to make this necklace
- 48 8 x 6mm sherry colored beads
- 12 10 x 5mm red saucer beads
- 11 14 x 10mm smooth faceted beads in various colors
- 142 size 11/10 yellow seed beads
- about 160 inches of size FF red silk thread
- a large silver clasp and two .034" bead tips
The order of the beads is
- yellow, sherry, yellow, yellow, sherry, yellow
- yellow, red, yellow
- yellow, sherry, yellow, yellow, sherry, yellow
- yellow, faceted bead, yellow
- yellow, sherry, yellow, yellow, sherry, yellow
The finished necklace is 36 inches long. The yellow seed beads act as end caps for the larger beads, since their holes were too large for the thread. If you take a close look at the picture of this necklace you will see that I have an extra bead next to the clasp. OOPS, no one is perfect!
Blue and Amber India Glass Necklace
- 64 4.5mm round blue beads
- 16 10 x 8mm amber frosted corrugated saucer beads
- 7 10 x 8mm white frosted corrugated saucer beads
- 8 22 x 8mm clear spiral tube beads
- about 115 inches of dark blue size 3 nylon thread
- a large silver clasp and two .034" bead tips
Start this necklace with a blue bead, then use the following order of beads, ending with blue, amber, blue and one more blue bead.
- blue, amber, blue
- blue, clear tube, blue
- blue, amber, blue
- blue, white, blue,
The finished length of this necklace is 24 inches. The holes on the larger beads are too large for the thread, so the knots are only placed between the blue beads. The clasp in this necklace takes the place of a white frosted saucer bead.
